A man was allegedly killed and buried by his family members in Munugapadar village, located in the Dudukathenga panchayat under the Ampani police station in Kalahandi district.
The deceased has been identified as Jadu Dalapati, a resident of the village. Police have detained his wife, Rukmani Dalapati, as well as his younger son Fakir Dalapati, along with their son-in-law, Khirasindhu Nag. While the elder son Dhaneswar Dalapati is absconding.
Following the receipt of a complaint, a police team led by Ampani Police Station Incharge, Bijayalakshmi Hikka, arrived at the scene. After assessing the situation, they reported the incident to the Sub-Divisional Police Officer. A team led by Dharmagarh SDPO, Manoj Kumar Behera, along with local officials including Koksara Tehsildar Nabin Kishore Padhi, Koksara SI Hemant Patra, and Dr. Devendra Majhi, recovered the body, which had been buried beneath the soil, and sent it for autopsy.
As of now, Rukmani Dalapati, younger son Fakir Dalapati, and son-in-law Khirasindhu Nag are in custody, while the elder son, Dhaneswar Dalapati, is currently missing. The police have not disclosed any specific details regarding the cause of death. The Ampani police have opened a case and are conducting an investigation, with further information to be provided after it concludes, as announced by SDPO Shri Behera. Locals have indicated that Jadu Dalapati had a history of alcoholism and frequently caused disturbances when intoxicated.
