The Ministry of Defence celebrated the launch of the 10th Ammunition Cum Torpedo Cum Missile (ACTCM) Barge, LSAM 24 (Yard 134), on March 26, 2025, at M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane.
Cmde Rahul Jagat, SPS, from the Submarine Overseeing Team (SOT), Mumbai, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
This significant milestone is part of a contract for the construction of 11 ACTCM Barges awarded to M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd in March 2021.
These barges, entirely indigenously designed and built in collaboration with an Indian ship design firm and the Indian Register of Shipping, exemplify the “Make in India” and “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives. Model testing was conducted at the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL), Visakhapatnam, ensuring seaworthiness and operational reliability.
To date, nine of the barges have been delivered and are actively serving the Indian Navy.
This event marks another proud moment in India’s journey toward self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
These Barges are proud flag bearers of Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives of Government of India.
