The Odisha Police Sub-Inspector recruitment scam has taken a dramatic turn with the emergence of the “Digha module.”
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) seized crucial documents from a luxury hotel in New Digha, West Bengal, linking the case to suspected candidates and accused persons.
According to seized records, the hotel’s original guest booking register (from April 6, 2024, to December 18, 2024), room booking bill books, and other documents were recovered. Hotel manager-cum-chef Subrata Pahari produced the records, which were seized by G.K. Pradhan, Deputy Superintendent of Police, CBI ACB Bhubaneswar. The seizure took place on November 27, 2025, under case number RC 35(A)/2025.
Investigators suspect that several candidates or accused persons stayed at the hotel during the scam period. The discovery of the Digha module is expected to give the probe a new direction.
Names such as Shankar Prusti and Suresh Chandra Nayak have surfaced in connection with the scandal. CBI officials believe the hotel records may reveal critical details about the movements and stay patterns of those involved.
The exclusive revelation has intensified the investigation, which remains ongoing. Officials anticipate further disclosures in the coming days as the case unfolds.
