A Saudi Airlines flight carrying Hajj pilgrims narrowly avoided a disaster while landing at Lucknow airport on Sunday morning.
According to reports, flight SV 3112, which departed from Jeddah at 10:45 PM the previous night, encountered a technical glitch during touchdown, leading to sparks and smoke from the landing gear.
The plane, carrying 250 passengers and crew members, landed at around 6:30 AM when the alarming incident unfolded. Quick action from the pilot ensured the aircraft came to a controlled stop while taxiing on the runway. Airport fire and rescue teams swiftly responded to assess the situation and secure passenger safety.
While no injuries were reported, the incident raised concerns about aviation safety protocols, especially during the peak Hajj travel season. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the technical malfunction.
