The Economic Offences Wing officials from Uttar Pradesh arrested Sandeep Kumar Nayak, a Lucknow-based builder, from Odisha’s Bhubaneswar for allegedly orchestrating a multi-crore land fraud scheme in Jajpura district.
According to sources, Nayak had promised land deals to numerous individuals, collecting vast sums of money under pretences. Acting on Case No. 8/18 registered at Banda Police Station in Lucknow, UP, officials collaborated with Infocity Police in Bhubaneswar to apprehend Nayak from his sister’s residence near Patia Station.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the builder exploited regional vulnerabilities to carry out fraudulent transactions. The arrest marks a crucial development in interstate crime coordination and real estate fraud prevention.
