A low-pressure area has formed over the northeast Bay of Bengal and its adjoining regions, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The system is expected to move west-northwestward over the next 24 hours, potentially bringing rainfall to parts of Odisha, West Bengal, and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Meteorologists have indicated the possibility of another low-pressure system forming around September 25, which may intensify into a depression by September 26. This could lead to widespread showers, especially in eastern and southeastern India.
Fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into deep-sea areas, and local administrations are on alert for potential waterlogging and storm-related disruptions.
The IMD continues to monitor the system closely and will issue updates as the situation evolves.
