The Lok Sabha recently passed the Immigration and Foreigners Bill, 2025, marking a significant step toward enhancing India’s national security and economic growth.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted the bill’s objectives, including ensuring the country’s safety while welcoming foreign visitors who contribute positively to India’s development.
Shah clarified that India remains open to tourists, students, and businesspeople but warned against those with malicious intentions. He underscored that the country is not a “dharmshala” (shelter home), and any attempt to compromise India’s security will be dealt with strictly. The bill also addresses concerns about illegal infiltration and promises severe action against individuals creating unrest.
The proposed legislation promises to strengthen India’s economy, boost health and education sectors, and provide updated records of foreigners entering the country.
