The Odisha Revenue Department has suspended Kuchinda Tehsildar Mitali Madhusmita Dalei following serious allegations of bias in a land dispute case.
The action comes after a formal complaint was filed by local resident Rajesh Agarwal, who accused Dalei of favoring his cousins in a fraudulent property transfer.
Agarwal alleged that his relatives conspired to falsely register mutation cases by declaring him and his immediate family deceased, thereby seizing the properties of the late Jagdish Lal Seth. He claimed that Dalei approved the mutation documents without issuing proper notice, allowing the transfer to proceed without his knowledge.
The complaint was escalated to the Chief Minister, Revenue Minister, and Northern Revenue Commissioner, prompting immediate departmental action. Dalei has been instructed to report to the Sambalpur District Collector’s office during her suspension period.
The case has sparked widespread concern over the integrity of land administration in the region. A deeper investigation is underway to determine the extent of procedural violations and potential collusion.
