Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids at a minimum of eight locations linked to Surendra Kumar Tanti, an Assistant Revenue Inspector (ARI) stationed at Borigumma Tehsil in Koraput district.
He is under investigation for allegedly possessing assets that are disproportionate to his known income sources.
As per sources, various teams from the anti-corruption agency are conducting these coordinated raids on Tanti’s properties across multiple sites in Borigumma. The Vigilance team, which includes three DSPs, seven Inspectors, five ASIs, and additional supporting personnel, is operating under search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, in Jeypore. Sources indicate that the team has uncovered several important documents during the searches.
As of the latest updates, the search operations are still ongoing.
Search Underway at the below places:
1. A Residential double-storeyed building located at Borigumma.
2. A Rented residential house of Tanti’s daughter at Borigumma.
3. Tanti’s house in his native village Ranaspur, under Borigummapolice station limits
4. A house of his relative at vill.Kamta under Borigummapolice station limits
5. A Two-storeyed building of his relative at Borigumma.
6. A Two-storeyed market complex at Borigumma.
7. Tanti’s building at Borigumma.
8. Tanti’s Office chamber at Kumuli, Borigumma.
During house searches so far, the following assets have been unearthed in the name of Sri Tanti and his family members;
1. One double-storeyed building with an area of approx 2,000 Sqft. at Boriguma, Koraput.
2. Another double-storeyed building with an area of approx 2,000 Sqft. at Jhilimili, Boriguma, Koraput.
3. 8 nos. of plots in and around Boriguma, Dist-Koraput. Details as under;
i. A piece of land comprising 4 plots vide No.44/743, 44/709, 44/680 & 44/717 measuring an area of A 0.08 dcml., Khata No.122/990 & 122/991, Mauza Kundraguda, Boriguma, Koraput.
ii. One plot vide plot No.44/741, Khata No.122/372 measuring an area of A 0.02 dcml., Mauza Kundraguda, Boriguma, Koraput.
iii. A big patch of land vide plot No.72 & 298, Khata No.96 measuring an area of A 2.29 dcml., Mauza Kosaguda, Boriguma, Koraput.
iv. One plot vide plot No.94/122/1635, Khata No.155/1301 measuring an area of A 0.02 dcml., Mauza Jhilimili, Boriguma, Koraput.
The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above buildings/plots are being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing.
4. Cash Rs 1,55,000.
5. Gold jewellery weighing 152 gms.
6. 3 four-wheelers (Bolero, Mahindra SUV & Maruti Alto) & 1 two-wheeler.
7. Bank, Insurance & Postal deposits and other investments etc. are being ascertained.
