Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) wrapped up their season with a dazzling display of power-hitting and clinical bowling, trouncing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by a massive 110 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Batting first, SRH unleashed a batting storm, registering a staggering 278/3 in 20 overs—one of the highest team totals in IPL history. The charge was led by Heinrich Klaasen, who hammered 105 off just 39 balls, striking 7 fours and 9 sixes. His fiery innings was well-supported by Travis Head (76 off 40) and Dewald Brevis (57* off 23), ensuring SRH never lost momentum.
KKR’s chase never truly gained traction, with their batters struggling against SRH’s disciplined bowling attack. Sunil Narine (31 off 16) and Manish Pandey (37 off 23) showed resistance, but wickets tumbled at regular intervals. Eshan Malinga, Jaydev Unadkat, and Harsh Dubey ensured the pressure never eased, eventually bundling KKR out for 168 in 18.4 overs.
KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane admitted the team’s bowling execution fell short, saying, “Credit goes to SRH batters; their intent was fantastic. We made several errors as a bowling unit.”
SRH captain Pat Cummins celebrated the emphatic win but reflected on the season’s ups and downs: “We have the caliber, but sometimes things just don’t click. We’ll be back stronger next year.”
With this dominant victory, SRH signed off from IPL 2025 with renewed hope for the next season.
