KIIT & KISS Set for a Grand Participation at Khelo India University Games 2025

KIIT University and KISS are set to mark a historic presence at the Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2025, scheduled from November 24 to December 5 across seven cities of Rajasthan – Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kota and Bharatpur.


This fifth edition of KIUG, an initiative under the Government of India’s Khelo India programme, promises to be one of the biggest university sporting spectacles in the country, with over 5000 athletes competing in 23 medal sports and one demonstration discipline.

In a matter of great honour for Odisha and KIIT University, Dr. Gaganendu Dash, Director General (Sports & Yoga), KIIT & KISS, Bhubaneswar, has been selected as a Member of the Games Technical Conduct Committee (GTCC) from the East Zone by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

KIIT University is sending one of the largest and strongest contingents to KIUG 2025, featuring athletes with National and International honours, including Olympians, World University Games medalists, National record holders, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games medal winners.

Additionally, from Odisha, Sambalpur University has 2 players, Utkal University has 2 players, Rama Devi Women’s University has 1 player, and Berhampur University has 1 player participating in KIUG 2025.

The KIIT & KISS teams will begin their journey tomorrow to participate in this prestigious tournament. The grand inauguration of KIUG 2025 will be held on November 24.

Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT, KISS & KIMS, conveyed his heartfelt best wishes to all athletes. He encouraged them to give their best performances, bring laurels to the university and the state, and uphold the spirit of sportsmanship. The athletes also expressed their deep gratitude to Dr. Samanta for his continuous support, guidance, and motivation.

With an impressive lineup across multiple disciplines, KIIT & KISS aim to make a remarkable impact at the Khelo India University Games 2025 and bring home a rich medal haul.
