Kendrapara District Collector Raghuram R. Iyer has ordered the stoppage of salaries for employees in 42 offices across nine departments due to negligence in official work.
The Collector had repeatedly directed government offices to adopt online communication for official correspondence. However, several offices failed to comply with these instructions. As a result, he took strict action by halting the salaries of staff members in the defaulting offices.
Officials confirmed that the decision aims to enforce accountability and ensure that government departments follow digital procedures mandated for efficiency and transparency.
