Navi Mumbai: In a stunning return to the match against Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals made a fantastic win by 23 runs on Saturday.
Jos Buttler was the protagonist early on for the Rajasthan Royals with his second IPL century after which Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal took over in stopping Mumbai Indians’ march to the 194-run target.
Jos Buttler brought his A-game to the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy as he scored 100 runs off 68 balls against the Mumbai Indians with the help of 11 fours and 5 sixes and he aided Rajasthan Royals to post 193/8 in 20 overs.
For MI, Kieron Pollard was not able to take Mumbai Indians over the line and in the end, they stumbled to a 23-run loss.
Earlier, Tilak Varma and Ishan Kishan had steadied the ship for Mumbai Indians as they put on 81 runs for the third wicket.
Varma and Ishan Kishan, who himself scored 54 off 43, put up a partnership of 81 runs off just 54 balls, at which point it looked like MI might win the game.
However, Chahal and Ashwin put the breaks on the chase and MI ended up falling 23 runs short.
