BJP candidate Jay Dholakia, along with his family, cast their votes in the Nuapada by-election on November 11.
The bypoll was necessitated after the demise of former MLA Rajendra Dholakia.
Jay arrived at polling booth number 66 in Mongarapalli with his mother, Kalpana Dholakia, wife Suman Dholakia, and other family members to participate in the electoral process.
After voting, Jay expressed his commitment to serve the people like his father. He said he came to vote after offering prayers at the Shankar temple and seeking the blessings of Lord Mahadev. He emphasised that he would work for the overall development of Nuapada under the double-engine government.
The family’s participation highlighted their emotional journey. Jay acknowledged the sudden by-election brought both grief and responsibility after the passing of his father. He urged voters to support him so that Nuapada could continue its path of progress.
Suman Dholakia also addressed the media after voting. She said the by-election was both painful and hopeful for the family. She appealed to voters to elect Jay, assuring that his victory would ensure development in the constituency.
