A serious accident was narrowly avoided in Kendrapara district when a truck belonging to the Pruthviraj Jatra party lost control and rammed into two roadside shops and a parked motorcycle near Duhuria Chhak, under Kendrapara Sadar Police limits.
The incident occurred while the truck was returning from Pattamundai carrying equipment for a theatre troupe.
As the vehicle approached the District Education Officer’s office area, the driver reportedly lost control, veering off the road and crashing into two pan shops. Fortunately, the shops were closed at the time, preventing injuries. The truck also dragged a parked bike along, severely damaging it.
Local residents, witnessing the mishap, quickly detained the truck driver, suspecting rash driving. Police arrived at the scene, seized the truck, and initiated an investigation. Authorities are assessing damages and have assured appropriate actions based on the findings.
