External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar reinforced India’s strict position on diplomatic talks with Pakistan, emphasising that discussions would only centre on terrorism.

During a press conference on Thursday, Jaishankar stated, “Pakistan has a list of terrorists that needs to be handed over, and they must dismantle terrorist infrastructure. That is the only feasible agenda for talks.”

Addressing concerns over the Indus Waters Treaty, Jaishankar stated that India would maintain the suspension of the agreement until Pakistan takes credible action against cross-border terrorism. He further clarified that the only discussion on Kashmir should focus on vacating Indian territory currently under Pakistan’s occupation.

Jaishankar also shed light on ongoing trade negotiations with the United States. He cautioned against premature judgments on tariff agreements, emphasising that any deal must be mutually beneficial to both nations.

As tensions continue to shape diplomatic interactions, India remains unwavering in its commitment to national security and regional stability.
