New Delhi: EAM S Jaishankar and his American counterpart Antony Blinken has held telephonic talks to boost bilateral cooperation.
They also discussed ways for increasing cooperation in the Indo-Pacific Region. This was Blinken’s first telephonic conversation with Jaishankar after he assumed the charge of Secretary of State early this week.
The US Secretary of state underscored India’s role as a preeminent US partner in the Indo-Pacific and the importance of working together to expand the regional cooperation.
The recent conversation between the top-level US and Indian officials indicates that the Biden administration will continue with Donald Trump’s Indo-Pacific strategy primarily aimed at containing China. The Biden administration would continue with Indo-Pacific policies initiated by Trump.
