In a developing controversy that has sparked widespread discussions in political circles, prominent youth leader Itish Pradhan was detained by police at Bhubaneswar’s Laxmisagar police station on Friday in connection with the viral dissemination of obscene photos and videos on social media platforms.

Police took swift action against Pradhan, a well-known figure in youth politics, following complaints related to the circulation of explicit content. He has been held at the station as investigations continue, with police sources indicating that a formal case could be registered under relevant provisions of the Information Technology (IT) Act and other applicable sections of the law.

According to preliminary information, the incident has ignited debates within Odisha’s political landscape, given Pradhan’s active involvement in youth leadership roles. Police are also probing whether any formal complaint has been lodged by the alleged victim or affected parties, though no such details have been confirmed yet.

No official response has been issued from Pradhan’s side regarding the allegations. Law enforcement officials emphasized that the probe is ongoing, and all necessary legal actions will be pursued in accordance with the law.

In a related development, the Bhubaneswar court granted bail to Pradhan shortly after his detention. Sources confirmed that a bail application was filed in court while police were conducting their initial questioning. Following a hearing, the court approved the bail, allowing Pradhan’s release pending further proceedings.
