Iran Vows ‘No Mercy’ After Israeli Strikes: Khamenei Issues Chilling Warning Amid Escalating Conflict

The Iran-Israel conflict continued to spiral towards all-out war as Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a stern warning on Wednesday, declaring, “We will show the Zionists no mercy.”

His comments came just days after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted at an assassination plot against Khamenei, sharply intensifying already fragile regional tensions.

According to Iran, the current crisis began when Israel launched a surprise attack amid Tehran’s ongoing nuclear deal negotiations with the United States. Since then, the conflict has claimed hundreds of lives in Iran. Israeli officials stated that at least 24 civilians were killed in retaliatory Iranian missile strikes that partially overwhelmed Israel’s Iron Dome defense system.

In a dramatic escalation, Iran fired hypersonic missiles at Israeli targets on Wednesday, while Israeli warplanes struck Tehran, hitting facilities linked to uranium enrichment and missile production. The Israeli military claimed it had neutralized 10 incoming missiles overnight, asserting that Iranian retaliation was weakening.

A Washington-based Iranian human rights group reported that 585 people have been killed, including 239 civilians, with over 1,300 injured in Iran. Meanwhile, Iranian retaliatory attacks have reportedly included 400 missiles and hundreds of drones, leaving hundreds injured in Israel.

Amid the chaos, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei warned the United States against intervention, calling it a “recipe for an all-out war in the region.” This response followed Donald Trump’s threat of severe consequences if Iran attacked American military installations in the Middle East.

Although initially silent, Trump has now taken a more aggressive stance, calling for Iran’s unconditional surrender and stating the U.S. knows Khamenei’s whereabouts. Thousands of residents began fleeing Tehran following Trump’s remark that civilians should leave the capital.

The U.S. has also deployed additional warplanes to the region, indicating deeper involvement may be on the horizon. Trump rejected the idea of a ceasefire, instead suggesting he was seeking a broader outcome to the conflict.

Israel has justified its attacks by accusing Iran of developing nuclear weapons. It confirmed strikes on facilities producing uranium centrifuges and missile components, claiming these were aimed at halting Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Iran is currently enriching uranium up to 60% purity, just shy of the 90% weapons-grade threshold.

As diplomatic avenues narrow and both nations intensify their military responses, the Middle East stands at the brink of one of the most dangerous escalations in recent history.
