The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final is likely to be hosted at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, with the playoffs relocated to Mullanpur, home of the Punjab Kings.
Sources within the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed that logistical constraints and unpredictable weather conditions in Kolkata and Hyderabad influenced this decision.
Initially, the playoffs were scheduled to take place in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens and Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. However, after evaluating the recent extreme weather conditions, the BCCI opted for Mullanpur as the alternate venue. The league, which was restructured due to scheduling challenges, has undergone significant changes this season, with matches being played across six cities instead of ten.
Fans and analysts are eagerly anticipating the final showdown in Ahmedabad, a venue renowned for hosting historic cricket matches. This shift in venue is expected to ensure seamless execution of the playoffs, minimizing disruptions caused by adverse weather.
