The stakes couldn’t be higher as Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians lock horns in the IPL 2025 Eliminator at the New PCA Stadium in Chandigarh.

A win will propel the victorious team into the next playoff phase against Punjab Kings, while the loser bids farewell to the tournament.

Toss & Team News

Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first, banking on their top-order firepower to set a formidable target. The seasoned duo of Rohit Sharma and Jonny Bairstow aim to provide stability, while Suryakumar Yadav—MI’s leading scorer with 640 runs—remains the team’s key batting asset.

Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, boast a formidable batting lineup led by Shubman Gill (649 runs) and Sai Sudharsan (679 runs), the current Orange Cap holder. However, they face a challenge with Jos Buttler’s absence, and Kusal Mendis is expected to step up in the crucial clash.

Bowling Battle & Pitch Analysis

The Mullanpur pitch offers variable bounce, aiding seamers early before becoming conducive for spinners. Mumbai’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah (17 wickets) will be crucial in dismantling Gujarat’s top order, while GT’s Prasidh Krishna (23 wickets) looks set to trouble MI’s middle order.

Match Expectations

Both teams enter the match with contrasting histories—Gujarat has displayed playoff consistency, while Mumbai thrives under elimination pressure. The contest promises to be a thriller, with potential fireworks from the batting and bowling duels.

With playoff survival on the line, this battle is expected to produce a high-octane encounter that could go down to the wire.
