Harmanpreet Kaur led the team to a dramatic win over South Africa in the final, securing India’s first-ever ICC Women’s World Cup title. Although the squad suffered three early defeats, they bounced back with determination and captured the nation’s admiration.

On Monday, the Prime Minister’s Office sent a formal invitation to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The players, currently in Mumbai, plan to travel to the capital by Tuesday evening. After meeting the Prime Minister, they will return to their hometowns.

To honor their achievement, the BCCI announced a ₹51 crore cash reward. The board will distribute the amount among players, coaching staff, and the national selection committee. According to sources, each player and the head coach may receive ₹2.5 to ₹3 crore. Meanwhile, assistant coaches and support staff could get ₹25 to ₹30 lakh.

This recognition reflects the rising support for women’s cricket in India. It also celebrates the team’s resilience and excellence on the global stage. The meeting with Prime Minister Modi will serve as a proud moment for the players and inspire future generations.
