New Delhi/Kyiv: In view of continued tensions along the border of Ukraine with Russia, the Indian Embassy in Kyiv on Tuesday advised Indian students to leave the country.
The Indian embassy urged students to temporarily leave Ukraine rather than wait for an official confirmation from universities.
“Embassy of India is receiving a large number of calls asking about the confirmation of online classes by Medical Universities. In this regard, as informed earlier, Embassy is engaged with respective authorities for streamlining of education process for Indian students,” it said in its advisory.
“Students are advised, in the interest of their safety, to leave Ukraine temporarily, rather than wait for an official confirmation from universities,” it added.
The move comes amid apprehensions of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine soon as it deployed over 130,000 soldiers, heavy weapons and fighter jets along the Ukrainian border.
India To Operate Additional Flights From Ukraine
Due to the escalation of tensions in Ukraine, additional flights are being organised. Four flights from Kyiv to Delhi is scheduled to operate on Feb 25, Feb 27 and March 6, 2022. This has been informed by Embassy of India in Ukraine.
On the other hand, The Dreamliner B-787 aircraft deployed for the special operation with a capacity of over 200 seats. The special flight from Ukraine will land in Delhi tonight. The airline will also operate special ferry flights to Ukraine on Feb 24 and Feb 26. Tickets can be booked through Air India’s offices, website, call centre & authorised travel agents.
