The Indian Army successfully foiled a significant infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday. Reports indicate the operation may have involved Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT).
During the exchange of fire near Tikka Post, one Indian soldier lost his life, while an ongoing search and security operation continued. The incident occurred in the Area of Responsibility of 16 Sikh LI (09 Bihar Advance Party) and falls under the jurisdiction of Police Station Uri.
This comes a day after Sepoy Banoth Anil Kumar died on operational duty along the LoC in Baramulla. The Chinar Corps expressed deep condolences, honoring his bravery and sacrifice.
Earlier this week, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi also paid tribute to Lance Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh, who were killed during Operation Kulgam in South Kashmir, reaffirming the Armed Forces’ solidarity with the bereaved families.
