As the much-anticipated Australia tour approaches, the India women’s hockey team is set to showcase its prowess on the international stage.
Scheduled to take place from April 26 to May 4 at the iconic Perth Hockey Stadium, the tour promises thrilling action. The team will play two matches against Australia A and three against the senior Australia team.
Salima Tete, a dynamic midfielder, will captain the 26-member squad, with forward Navneet Kaur as vice-captain. Adding to the excitement are five debutants—Jyoti Singh, Sujata Kujur, Ajmina Kujur, Pooja Yadav, and Mahima Tete—who are eager to make their mark.
The tour serves as a crucial preparation for the European leg of the FIH Pro League in June, allowing the team to test combinations, build squad depth, and provide new players with valuable international exposure. Hockey enthusiasts across the globe eagerly await seeing how India fares against top-tier competition.
