India altered their lineup for the last Group A match of the Champions Trophy 2025 against New Zealand by resting young fast bowler Harshit Rana and including Varun Chakravarthy in the playing XI.
Opting to play with a single specialist fast bowler, Mohammed Shami, India’s decision to field four spinners raised eyebrows. Hardik Pandya will assist with the fast-bowling duties alongside Shami.
Contrary to expectations, India did not rest Mohammed Shami despite ongoing fitness concerns.
Meanwhile, New Zealand made a single change to their playing XI, replacing Devon Conway with Daryl Mitchell.
Both teams remain unbeaten in the tournament, with the winner of this match set to top Group A.
