The India-Pakistan conflict took a sharp turn as Indian forces launched retaliatory drone strikes on Islamabad, Lahore, and Sialkot following Pakistan’s aggressive attacks on Indian border states.

Pakistan attempted to target strategic locations such as the Jammu airport and military installations in various northern and western regions, but India’s advanced defence systems effectively neutralised the threats.

Pakistan reportedly carried out missile and drone attacks on crucial locations, including Jammu, Pathankot, Udhampur, and Jaisalmer. Several cities in Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat also faced threats. Authorities confirmed that Indian defence mechanisms, notably the S-400 air defence system, intercepted and destroyed multiple Pakistani projectiles, preventing substantial damage.

In immediate retaliation, India deployed precision strikes, targeting Pakistan’s air defence systems in Sialkot, Sargodha, Multan, and Lahore. Sources indicate that critical Pakistani military infrastructure suffered significant damage, effectively crippling their air defense capabilities.

As tensions soared, power blackouts were implemented across Jammu, Punjab, and Rajasthan as a security precaution.

The fresh wave of attacks follows India’s earlier missile strikes on terrorist camps under Operation Sindoor, aimed at eliminating cross-border threats.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, calling for immediate de-escalation following heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. Rubio urged Pakistan to take concrete steps to end support for terrorist groups.

Rubio also spoke to Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, expressing US support for dialogue between the two nations and reaffirming its commitment to counter-terrorism efforts. Jaishankar reaffirmed India’s stance and condemned Pakistan’s provocative actions.

With international diplomatic engagements ongoing, the situation remains volatile, raising concerns over further escalations. Citizens await further updates as India reinforces its military presence along the border.
