The India Women’s cricket team has unveiled its squad for the highly anticipated Tri-Nation Series in Sri Lanka, which includes matches against South Africa and the host nation.
The tournament, scheduled to begin on April 27, 2025, will feature all matches at the iconic R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana will lead a promising team comprising seasoned players like Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma. However, the squad faces notable absences, with pacers Renuka Singh Thakur and Titas Sadhu sidelined due to injuries. Shafali Verma, who had already been left out earlier, remains excluded from this lineup.
The announcement comes with exciting news for two young talents—Kashvee Gautam and Sree Charani—who have earned their maiden call-ups after remarkable performances in the recently concluded Women’s Premier League and domestic tournaments. Their inclusion adds fresh energy and talent to the team.
India will clash with Sri Lanka on April 27 and May 4, and South Africa on April 29 and May 7, promising a thrilling cricket showdown.
