Harare, February 6: India delivered a dominant batting performance in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026 final, posting 411/9 and setting a massive target of 412 runs for England at Harare Sports Club.

Opening batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi stole the show with a blistering 175 off 80 balls, smashing 15 fours and 15 sixes. His innings rewrote records, including the fastest hundred in an ICC 50-over final and the fastest U19 150, achieved in just 71 balls.

Captain Ayush Mhatre supported with a composed 53 off 51 balls, while Abhigyan Kundu added 40 off 31 balls. Kanishk Chouhan provided late fireworks with an unbeaten 37 off 20 balls, and Vihaan Malhotra chipped in with 30 off 36 balls. Together, the batting unit ensured India crossed the 400-run mark in a World Cup final for the first time.

India’s innings began aggressively after winning the toss and choosing to bat. Suryavanshi raced to his fifty in 32 balls and reached his second fifty in just 23 balls, dismantling England’s bowling attack. His partnership of 142 runs with Mhatre set the tone for India’s dominance.

England now faces the daunting task of chasing 412 runs in 50 overs. The target creates immense psychological pressure, especially in a final where India’s batting display has already tilted momentum heavily in their favour.

India, aiming for their sixth U19 World Cup title, showcased intent and firepower with the bat. The final promises high drama as England, led by Thomas Rew, attempts to overcome one of the biggest challenges in U19 World Cup history.
