New Delhi: With 10,584 fresh cases, India’s COVID-19 tally has climbed to 1,10,16,434, while the number of recoveries has surged to 1,07,12,665.
This was informed by the Union health ministry on Tuesday.
The death toll increased to1,56,463 with 78 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.
The reported active COVID-19 cases in India stand at 1,47,306, according to the Union Health Ministry.
As many as 1,07,12,665 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged so far, the Union Health Ministry has said in its latest update.
The genetic diagnostic laboratories in India have detected over 24,000 mutations in the strains of SARS-CoV-2 in the last one year, top officials said.
The officials added that the mutations have been detected in around 7,000 variants of the novel coronavirus which are under circulation in the country.
