Team India continued its dominant run in the Asia Cup T20-2025, securing a comprehensive 41-run victory over Bangladesh in the 5th T20I held at the Dubai International Stadium.
With this win, India remains unbeaten in the tournament and sails into the final with a perfect 5-0 record.
Batting first, India posted a competitive total of 168/6 in their allotted 20 overs. The opening duo set the tone early, hammering 72 runs in the powerplay without losing a wicket. Despite a mid-innings wobble that saw five wickets fall in the middle overs, India regained momentum in the death overs, adding 36 crucial runs to close out the innings at a healthy run rate of 8.4.
Bangladesh’s chase never quite took off. They managed 44/1 in the powerplay but faltered in the middle overs, losing key wickets and struggling to build partnerships. The final phase proved disastrous, with the team collapsing for just 19 runs and losing five wickets in the death overs. Bangladesh was bowled out for 127 in 19.3 overs, falling short by 41 runs.
The final wicket came in dramatic fashion as Mustafizur Rahman attempted a lofted shot off Tilak Varma, only to be caught by Axar Patel at long-off, sealing India’s emphatic win.
India’s clinical performance across all departments—aggressive batting, disciplined bowling, and sharp fielding—underscored their status as tournament favourites. With momentum firmly on their side, the Men in Blue now await their challenger in the final showdown.
