New Delhi: The BCCI has named Mohammed Siraj as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah who was yesterday ruled out of T20 World Cup 2022 and the ongoing South Africa series. In a press release, the 28-year-old right-armer was named in the T20I squad for the last two T20Is against South Africa in Guwahati and Indore.
Bumrah had sustained a back injury and is currently under the supervision of the BCCI Medical Team and is confirmed out of the tournament.
BCCI had informed of Bumrah’s injury just minutes before the toss took place at the Greenfield Stadium. “Jasprit Bumrah complained of back pain in during India’s practice session on Tuesday. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He is ruled out of the first T20I,” BCCI had tweeted.
