The 2nd ODI between India and England faced disruption due to a technical problem with one of the floodlights at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
As India pursued a target of 305 runs in the second innings, openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill provided a solid start, with Rohit showcasing his power-hitting during the initial powerplay.
However, the play was halted when one of the floodlights began to flicker and eventually turned off completely. Although technicians managed to settle the issue momentarily, the flickering resumed, leading the players to leave the field after 6.1 overs, with India at 48 runs without loss.
Rohit appeared to be in good form, to the delight of fans, demonstrating his hitting ability with several sixes and fours after facing criticism for his poor performance in the first ODI, where he was out for just 2 runs. This scrutiny has followed him due to his struggles in international cricket across various formats in recent times.
