Konark: Heavy rainfall has caused severe water logging at the iconic Konark Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site, leading to significant inconvenience for tourists.
The incessant downpour on Thursday resulted in the temple’s entrance being submerged, with visitors wading through knee-deep water to access the site.
Several tourists sustained minor injuries due to the slippery conditions, and many expressed their disappointment over the lack of proper drainage at this historical location. “I have heard about the Konark Temple and I am visiting the site for the first time. But, I am completely disheartened to see the water-logging here. This does not look good at such a prominent historical site,” said a tourist from Gujarat.
Local residents and tourists alike are calling for immediate action from the government to address the recurring issue of water logging at the temple.
