Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall across several districts in Odisha on Wednesday.
According to the IMD’s forecast, there is a likelihood of 7 to 20 cm of rainfall at one or two places in the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Boudh, Sonepur, and Sambalpur on August 1, 2024.
“The cyclonic circulation that was over Jharkhand and its vicinity has now shifted over Gangetic West Bengal and its neighbourhood. The cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh has diminished,” the IMD stated.
The IMD has also indicated that heavy rainfall is expected in various parts of Odisha until August 4.

Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) is very likely at one or two places in the districts of Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Nayagarh, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Kalahandi.
