Commissionerate Police uncovered a large-scale racket involved in the distribution of counterfeit vehicle parts in the Rajarani Colony under Badagada police limits in Bhubaneswar.

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided A K Auto Accessories, where they seized duplicate spare parts of prominent brands such as Honda and TVS, along with counterfeit Castrol engine oil. The items confiscated included materials used for manufacturing the counterfeit products, such as containers, stickers, and packaging items.

“We have seized duplicate vehicle spare parts worth around Rs 15 lakh,” said Trupti Ranjan Nayak, Inspector-in-Charge of Badagada police station. “The crackdown on this illegal operation is crucial as substandard products can lead to severe damage to vehicles,” Nayak added.

Authorities have advised vehicle owners to be cautious while purchasing spare parts and engine oil to ensure they are not buying counterfeit products.

The investigation is ongoing, and further action will be taken against those involved in this illegal trade.
