The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has unveiled its first Bachelor of Science (BS) programme in Chemistry, set to commence in July 2025.
Open to JEE Advanced qualified students, this pioneering course aims to bridge the gap between core scientific principles and modern technological applications.
Designed with a strong emphasis on practical-based learning, the programme features interdisciplinary exposure, elective flexibility, and forward-looking modules like Artificial Intelligence in Chemistry. IIT Delhi’s Chemistry Department Head, S. Nagendran, highlighted the significance of integrating multi-disciplinarity into chemical science education, ensuring students gain both fundamental knowledge and engineering insights.
Graduates of this programme will be well-equipped for careers across diverse sectors, including Pharmaceuticals, Semiconductors, Materials, Manufacturing, Defence, and Petrochemicals. Developed in collaboration with industry experts and academic scholars, the curriculum promises to shape the next generation of chemical scientists and tech leaders.
