Cricket fans can watch the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 schedule reveal live on November 25 from 6:30 PM IST.
The event will stream on JioHotstar and air on Star Sports 1, Star Sports 2, and Star Sports 3 across India. The announcement marks a major moment as the tournament returns with an expanded format and new teams.
The 2026 edition will feature 20 teams, following the same structure as 2024. Four groups of five teams will compete, with each side playing every opponent once. The top two from each group will advance to the Super Eight stage, forming two groups of four. The top two from each Super Eight pool will progress to the semifinals, and the winners will meet in the final.
Hosts and Venues: India and Sri Lanka will jointly host the tournament. Under a mutual arrangement between the BCCI and PCB, Pakistan will play all its matches in Sri Lanka. If Pakistan reaches the final, that match will also take place in Sri Lanka instead of India.
Qualified Teams:
- Hosts: India and Sri Lanka
- Automatic qualifiers from 2024: Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, United States, West Indies
- Rankings-based qualifiers: New Zealand, Pakistan, Ireland
- Global pathway qualifiers: Canada, Italy, Netherlands, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Nepal, Oman, UAE
Italy will make its first-ever appearance at a T20 World Cup.
India enters the tournament as defending champion, having defeated South Africa in the 2024 final in Barbados.
