The Cuttack district administration has cracked down on colleges failing to comply with the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) report submissions.
Out of 210 colleges across the district, more than half have reportedly failed to respond to official directives asking for detailed ICC documentation.
The administration had earlier asked for specific ICC reports, clearly mentioning the contact details of the complainants along with the principal’s signature. This was seen as part of a broader initiative to ensure institutional transparency and gender-sensitive governance mechanisms.
As a result of non-compliance, the Collector has ordered the immediate suspension of salaries of the employees associated with these institutions. Sources confirm that if the colleges do not submit comprehensive ICC reports within the next 24 hours, their respective principals will be suspended.
Officials emphasised that maintaining ICC records is mandatory under institutional protocols aimed at preventing harassment and fostering safe educational environments. The strong measures signal a growing intolerance for negligence in matters of student welfare and legal obligations.
