The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced an all-female panel of match officials for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
This marks the first time in the tournament’s history that every match will be officiated exclusively by women.
The 13th edition of the Women’s World Cup, hosted by India, will feature 14 umpires and 4 match referees, including seasoned professionals like Claire Polosak, Jacqueline Williams, and Sue Redfern—all making their third World Cup appearance. The panel also includes emerging talents such as Janani N, Vrinda Rathi, and Gayathri Venugopalan from India.
“This achievement is another milestone for the ICC’s broader strategic vision to accelerate the growth of women’s cricket,” the ICC stated in its official release.
The move follows similar all-female officiating panels at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the last two ICC Women’s T20 World Cups, reinforcing the global push for gender equity in sports.
The full list of match referees includes Trudy Anderson, Shandré Fritz, GS Lakshmi, and Michell Pereira. The umpires selected span multiple countries, showcasing the international depth of female officiating talent.
