In a shocking case of love, physical intimacy, and betrayal, an Indian Air Force personnel posted in Ladakh has been arrested by the Badagada police station in Bhubaneswar.
The accused, Golaka Bihari Dixit, who was on leave in Odisha, allegedly deceived a young woman by promising marriage, engaging in physical relationships with her, and later refusing to honour his commitment while threatening her.
According to the complaint filed by the victim, the accused developed a romantic relationship with her over an extended period. He lured her with assurances of marriage and exploited her trust by establishing physical intimacy on several occasions. However, when pressed to proceed with the wedding, he evaded the topic, ultimately denied the promise, and even intimidated her to keep silent.
The woman, left emotionally traumatised, approached the Badagada police station to report the incident. Acting swiftly on the complaint, the police tracked down the accused as he attempted to flee. He was apprehended from the Market Building area, where he was reportedly planning to return to Ladakh without facing consequences.
Further allegations reveal that the IAF staff had also taken money from the victim under false pretences. The police have registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and forwarded the accused to court for judicial proceedings. Investigations are ongoing, with authorities indicating that more details may emerge as the probe deepens.
