An Indian Air Force (IAF) Jaguar aircraft crashed in Haryana’s Panchkula district on Friday during a routine training sortie.
The pilot managed to eject safely, avoiding any casualties or injuries on the ground.
The incident occurred in the hilly terrain of Panchkula’s Raipurrani area. The pilot was able to maneuver the aircraft away from populated areas before ejecting. The crash was attributed to a system malfunction encountered during the sortie.
An inquiry has been ordered by the IAF to determine the cause of the malfunction. This crash is the latest in a series of similar incidents involving IAF aircraft during training sorties.
Haryana Deputy Commissioner of Police Himadree Kaushik confirmed the crash and emphasized that there was no loss of life or injuries reported on the ground.
The aircraft had taken off from Ambala for a routine training sortie. In recent months, there have been multiple crashes involving IAF aircraft, including a twin-seater Mirage 2000 fighter aircraft in Madhya Pradesh and a MiG-29 fighter jet in Uttar Pradesh, both during routine training sorties.
