Police arrested a hospital employee in Mumbai for secretly recording and circulating veteran actor Dharmendra’s ICU video after his discharge.
The clip went viral on social media on November 13, sparking outrage over the invasion of privacy.
The video showed the 89-year-old Sholay legend lying on a hospital bed surrounded by family members, including Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Karan Deol, and Rajveer Deol. Dharmendra’s first wife, Prakash Kaur, appeared visibly emotional as Sunny Deol tried to console her.
According to reports, the staff member at Breach Candy Hospital violated patient confidentiality by capturing the footage. Police confirmed the arrest but have not disclosed the identity of the accused.
Dharmendra left the hospital at 7:30 AM on November 12. His family arranged ICU-like facilities at home to continue treatment. In an official statement, the family requested privacy, urged the public to avoid speculation, and asked fans to pray for his recovery.
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol expressed anger at the paparazzi outside his residence. He appealed to their sense of responsibility, questioning whether they felt shame in such intrusive behaviour. He mentioned their parents and children to highlight the emotional impact of such actions.
The incident has reignited debate over celebrity privacy and media ethics. While fans remain concerned about Dharmendra’s health, the family continues to emphasise dignity and respect during his recovery.
