A private helicopter operated by Crestel Aviation Private Limited, en route to Kedarnath Dham, made an emergency landing in Guptkashi, Rudraprayag district, due to a technical fault on Saturday.
The aircraft, flying from Sirsi with passengers onboard, had to land on a roadway instead of the designated helipad as a precautionary measure.
According to Uttarakhand ADG Law and Order Dr. V Murugeshan, all passengers are safe, while the pilot is undergoing medical treatment for injuries sustained during the landing. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been informed of the incident, and an investigation is expected to follow.
Despite this setback, shuttle operations to Kedarnath continue as scheduled, ensuring that pilgrims and travellers experience minimal disruption. Authorities have reassured the public that safety measures remain in place for all helicopter operations in the region.
