The oppressive summer heat is all set to make a comeback in Odisha as the Nor’wester-induced pre-monsoon showers are expected to subside from today.
With the weakening of the Nor’wester, temperatures are likely to soar across the coastal belt, according to weather reports.
While isolated showers may continue in some areas, the brief respite will soon fade. The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow warning for thunder and lightning for six districts—Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, and Cuttack.
Weather Pattern Shift Anticipated
Starting tomorrow, a significant rise in both daytime and nighttime temperatures is forecasted across Odisha. According to the Regional Meteorological Department, day temperatures may spike by 4 to 5°C in the next four to five days, with night temperatures also expected to increase.
“The maximum or day temperature is set to rise again in Odisha. As per the IMD’s forecast, there will be a gradual rise in the maximum temperature by 4 to 5°C over the next 4-5 days across the districts of Odisha. Similarly, the night temperature is also likely to see a rise,” the weather department stated.
