Odisha continues to experience a relentless rise in temperatures, with 17 cities recording daily highs above 40°C. Jharsuguda has emerged as the hottest city in the state, hitting a scorching 43°C.
The regional meteorological center has forecast further escalation in heat, predicting temperatures to touch 44°C in some areas over the next two days. Districts including Kalahandi, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Sambalpur, and Jharsuguda have been placed under a yellow warning for heatwave conditions.
Manorama Mohanty, director of the regional meteorological center, stated that the state is currently experiencing severe inland heat flow alongside humid coastal conditions.
