Bhubaneswar: After brief lull, the heat wave has made a comeback to the State with 14 places recording temperature above 40 degrees c today.
The State was reeling under unbearable heat in first two weeks of April as several places continued to record above 40 degrees C temperature. However, norwester rain had brought relief from the heatwave.
For the last two days, the State is experiencing heat and humid as mercury is hovering around 40 degrees C in many places across the State.
As many as 14 cities in the state today recorded maximum temperature of 40 degrees.
Highest temperature of 42 degrees C was recorded in Boudh.
Similarly, the highest temperature recorded in Jharsuguda was 41.6 degrees, while Sambalpur reported 41.6, Rourkela 41.4, Angul 41.1, Sundargarh 41, Talcher 40.8, Balangir 40.5, Jagatsinghpur 40.5, Chandbali 40.2, Titilagarh. 40, 40 degrees in Sonepur, 40 degrees in Niagara and 40 degrees in Kendrapara.
Similarly, mercury touched 38.2 degrees C in Bhubaneswar while in Cuttack it is 39.5. Hirakud witnessed 39.9, Bargarh 39.5, Nuapada 39.4, Bhawanipatna 39, Deogarh 39, Malkangiri 39, Dhenkanal 38.1, Jajpur 38, Phulbani 37 9, Bhadrak 37 and 37.2 in Parlakhemundi.
Baripada, Chhatrapur, Khurda, Balasore and Keonjhar recorded 37 degress C each.
