Bhubaneswar: Â Commissionerate Police has arrested a habitual offender for stealing valuables and cash by breaking into a house in Brahmeswarpatna under Badagada police station limits in Bhubaneswar UPD.
The accused has been identified as Purna Chandra Behera (32) of Laxmisagar Keutasahi, presently staying at Chillipokhari Badhiguda in Badagada area.
On the basis of a complaint lodged by Suranjan Kumar Das, Badagada police investigated the case; arrested the accused and forwarded him to the court.
On getting reliable inputs, police apprehended the accused from Mainsikhal Basti while he was trying to sell the gold jewellery. During interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime. Police have seized the stolen gold jewellery and Rs 3,500 from the accused.
