Ahmednagar: The Election Commission announced the schedule for the much-awaited assembly elections in Gujarat today.
Like last time, polling will be held in two phases again. While the first phase of Assembly elections will be held on 1st December, the second phase will be on 5th December.
The results will be declared on 8th December, informed Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar.
Before announcing the dates of the polls, Kumar expressed condolences to the victims of the Morbi bridge collapse. At least 135 people died in the incident last Sunday.
The term of the 182-member state Assembly ends on February 18, 2023. After the poll dates are announced, the Model Code of Conduct will come into effect in the state.
