Bhubaneswar: Five teams of the Commercial Tax & Goods and Services Tax (CT & GST) (Recovery) officials on Wednesday raided at three places of Bharat Motors in Bhubaneswar over Rs 38 crore entry tax arrears.
According to reports, 30 tax officials, split into five teams, carried out the raids at Bharat Motors’ branches in Mancheswar, Pahala and Laxmisagar areas.
The entry tax payment by the establishment has reportedly been pending for the period from 2008 to April 2017.
The officials have reportedly attached the movable properties by carrying out seizure of two-wheelers and four-wheelers, both passenger and heavy vehicles, at the three branches of the company, said reports.
The attached immovable properties include 1.8 acres of land and the building on the said land at Pahala, the Tax Recovery Officer, Joint Commissioner, Enforcement Wing, Bhubaneswar said in a statement.
